MOST CURRENT UPDATE: Dr. will be communicating w/my oncologist & other doctors to see what other chemotherapy or other treatment options may be possible. The round of chemo given to me on Fri. had bad side effects for me.

Not sure why I- me, has to go around & be go- between, do the leg- work when people that should be doing the work or communicating between each medical office and/or professionals.
They don’t seem to care to see why it’s a big deal to ask me stuff like- who did the surgery, where did you go, do you have a phone number, etc.?
Appointments and test results shouldn’t be up to me to hunt down.
I’m supposed to “relax” or “rest up”… big fucking joke- how damnit?! How?!
I’ve got other stressors aside from health & since whole process began- “trying organize my own health care”!
Not sure how some people have had an easy time w/cancer treatment, etc.
So tired of this illness & other issues it has spawned & the effort i’ve had to go through to ensure care, get info, etc.

Cookie vs Cancer…

I wish I could express how incredibly tired & over- whelmed I am physically, emotionally and mentally. Diagnosis 2020- trying to get treatment and moving out of apt. 2021- treatment finally in mid/late 2022- and now 2023, covid for several wks. before chemo wrap up, and more appts./treatment(s) to keep me well beyond chemo and initial treatment. Not sure how much I have in me to go on at times… or even if I want to. I just try each day…

Massive feels…

So in theory, i’m done w/chemo, pending pet scan 1/31 & dr. visit to go over results.

Haven’t done anything to celebrate- would love to do virtual shin dig or whatnot but seeing this reminds me I need a pick me up, people, & the goofy stuff people do & say to show they care.

P.S. there’s also a weighted Eeyore that sighs on website. I tried to get one to take w/me during chemo, but no dice- for various financial reasons & the damn website wouldn’t let me use coupon/discount/whatever it’s called!

Feeling nauseous…

Has happened after last round of chemo & this current, and hopefully- last round- round 6.

There are a lot of meds i take the days after chemo- 10 pills 4 days after; then 9 pills 5 days after; then 4 pills the rest of time after chemo.

What adds to pill count are Prednisone (tue. through sat.) & nauseua pill i take 4 days after (tue. through fri.)

Ugh, will be happier when i take less pills & have less appointments.

Taking time to rest, heal…

Am still raising funds given i have:

weekly check- ups, and other appts. as needed- per Dr. Hellerstedt.

treatment- my #chemo cycles/rounds every 3 wks. until Feb. or April- TBD when I go in for 4th cycle/round. * * *

No shot!

Labs look good… possible shot to help w/,very low white blood cells; Dr. Hellerstedt is looking over my labs to see if shot needed…

UPDATE: Update- Don’t need shot! Have to come in for labs Monday & then have- 2nd ROUND OF CHEMO on TUESDAY!

More hair today, gone tomorrow…

More hair has fallen out due to chemo. Hair falls out several weeks after first round.

I know this is expected to happen but it’s still hard to experience.

Iron Infusion, Labs, check up w/Dr.

I will be using funds mainly for travel to and from my weekly check- up appointments each month for 6 mths., possibly 8 mths. Appointments will be at TX- Oncology Round Rock.

My treatment will be 6 rounds, 1 every 3 wks. , so I will be traveling to and from TX- Oncology Round Rock for that as well.

I live in Killeen, and am staying w/same Dr., same location in Round Rock. 

– Don’t want to chance getting an ineffectual Dr. by moving to a closer location for treatment. Had that for far too long!
